LYK Art Projects is pleased to present Perfected Scene, featuring work by Jeff Liao, Jaye Rhee and Jason River, on view from Thursday, May 10 to Sunday, May 27 at the John Doe Gallery. The exhibition showcases photographic works that incorporate constant modifications or stagelike set-ups that lead seeing in a certain way. Jeff Liao creates a real but unrealistically desirable scene, Jaye Rhee questions the way of seeing things and making artworks, and Jason River sets up theoretical imagery with bare bodies and everyday objects. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, May 10, from 6 to 8 PM.
Artist Jaye Rhee has been commissioned to create artworks, from photographs to installation, and to design fixtures for the luxury condominium in Gangnam, Seoul.

Sarah Ryu's solo exhibition Together has opened at the Gallery IS in Seoul. The exhibition presents more than forty paintings from the artist's recent series that she made of earthy mediums such as soil, sand and clay. She is known for giving a sculptural touch to the natural materials with assured bold knife strokes. A catalogue published by Art in Chapel accompanies the exhibition. The show is on view until May 23, 2017.

Artist Katsuhiro Saiki participated in publication project of Boris Groys’ Art Power by translating the book and organizing the talk event at the several venues including The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo and The National Museum of Art, Osaka.
A series of symposiums with Boris Groys was held in Tokyo and Osaka to explore the potential of art in society. Through the analysis of contemporary art and society advanced in his seminal work ‘Art Power (MIT Press, 2008)’, Boris Groys has opened new perspectives on Eurocentric art history. In this series of symposiums, Groys talked about the relationships between art and society, as well as recent trends in contemporary art in the global market.
